WHEN: Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003. 11:00 a.m. Social
Hour for 12:00 o'clock Lunch.
WHERE: PRESIDIO GOLF CLUB (old Club) on the Presidio
in San Francisco. From California St., follow Arguello
north to the end and continue through the Presidio gate.
Turn left immediately to the Club House. It is the grey
building and there will be a sign in front to tell you
that you have arrived. Ample parking is available in front
of the building and in the adjacent parking lot.
COST: $30.00 per person. Guests are most cordially
welcome. The menu is traditional roast turkey with all
the trimmings. For those with special food requests, a
vegetarian entrée can be substituted.
RSVP: For telephone reservations, cancellations,
or for special food requests, please call Audrey Chisholm
at 415-474-8074 at least 24 hours ahead. For last minute
cancellations please call Audrey by 9:00 AM on the day
of the luncheon.
PROGRAM: THE CANADIAN WOMEN'S CLUB CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON
is always a gala party and fun for all. It is also an
important fund-raising event to support our Club's selected
charities for the Christmas season. The Silent Auction
is a great opportunity for you to discover some special
treasures just in time for Christmas giving. It is also
a great time to unload those white elephants you have
stored away. If you have not already delivered your items
for the auction, please bring them to the luncheon or
deliver them to the homes of Margaret Lyman or
Eleanor Myers or call them to arrange for a pick-up.
The Bake Sale has been expanded to include other food-related
donations like wine and candy. It's a time for our cooks
to show off their expertise and a great time for the rest
of us to stock up on special cakes, cookies, and preserves.
If you are contributing to the bake sale, please be sure
that your taste treat is wrapped. If you have a special
recipe please share it by including it too. The bake sale
sells out quickly so get there early.
Audrey Chisholm has again handcrafted a very beautiful
afghan for the raffle. And there are other items being
raffled off including a special Christmas centre piece,
a lovely Christmas wreath, and a gourmet basket with specialty
gourmet foods.
